Virat Kohli has become the first batter in the world to score 50 ODI centuries.

He broke the long-standing record of compatriot Sachin Tendulkar, who had scored 49 ODI centuries.

Kohli reached his landmark 50th ODI century at the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

He also surpassed Tendulkar's record for most runs in a single World Cup.

Kohli's 50th ODI century came in the semifinal match against New Zealand at the Wankhede stadium.

He reached his century with a two off fast bowler Lockie Ferguson.

Kohli celebrated his century by raising his arms aloft and bowing to the fans.

He was 100 not out after facing 106 balls in a virtually chanceless innings.
